Meet Our Team

Case Management

RN case managers are part of the interdisciplinary team. They help with discharge planning related to all care that is delivered at home, including durable medical equipment (DME) required to provide a safe discharge home. The RN case manager can help with community referrals and programs. Each case manager is assigned to a specific unit in which they have an expertise.


Chaplaincy

The hospital Pastoral Care Services, a Catholic priest and a group of volunteer ministers are available to all patients and families. Ask your nurse to request these services. A meditation room is located on the second floor.


Clinical Ethicists

Clinical ethicists can provide patient, caregiver and clinical team consultation to clarify medical goals of care that respect the patient’s best interests, needs and values.  


Dietitians

A registered dietitian will review your medical record and work with your health care team to develop a nutrition care plan for you. Registered dietitians also are available to educate you about any diets you may need to follow after you are discharged.


Doctors

Your attending physician oversees all of your care; writes orders for medications, procedures or tests; and monitors your condition.


Hospitalists

A hospitalist is an attending physician trained in internal medicine or family practice who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. He or she manages all aspects of a patient’s medical treatment from admission to discharge. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 


Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants

Nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) are state-licensed medical professionals who collaborate with your doctors, and are educated and trained to diagnose and treat acute illness and chronic conditions.


Nursing Staff

The nursing staff works together to implement the plan of care developed to help you meet your treatment goals. The nurses see to your physical and psychological comfort.


The nurse manager is in charge of your unit and oversees your care. If you have any questions or concerns about your care, please bring them to the attention of your nurse manager.


Your registered nurse works with the interdisciplinary team to develop your plan of care. This nurse monitors your progress. You may discuss your plan of care and progress with your nurse.


Nursing assistants are an important part of the nursing team. They are available to help with basic care: feeding, bathing, walking and toileting.


Patient Advocates

Patient and family experience advocates serve as a communication link between you, the hospital’s administration and various hospital departments.


Pharmacists

While you are in the hospital, all of your medications are dispensed by our hospital pharmacists. They can answer any questions you have about your medications.


Phlebotomists (Blood Drawing Team)

As part of the routine monitoring of many hospitalized patients, blood is drawn by a trained phlebotomist and sent to the laboratory for analysis.


Physical & Occupational Therapists

Physical and occupational therapists identify any physical impairments or functional limitations that may be a result of an injury or disease, and develop a treatment plan to promote the ability to move, restore function and prevent disability. They also make recommendations toward the next level of care.


Physical Therapist Assistants

Under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist, a physical therapist assistant may provide therapeutic exercises, functional retraining, and gait and balance training.


Radiology Technologists

Licensed medical professionals that provide 24/7 service to all patients for diagnostic imaging. They perform special tests in the Radiology Department and at the bedside, including: diagnostic radiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CAT scan, MRI and interventional procedures—e.g., angiograms, etc.


Respiratory Therapists

Respiratory therapists are part of the Allied Health Professional Team. They provide 24-hour service in the evaluation, monitoring and management of patients with breathing disorders or cardiovascular problems. Care provided by respiratory therapists may include:


  • oxygen administration
  • CPR
  • inserting and management of artificial airway
  • management of life support equipment
  • administering of aerosolized drugs
  • arterial Blood Gas samples
  • diagnostic testing of lung function
  • lung disease treatment and prevention education


Social Workers

Social workers can provide counseling and referrals to community resources, financial assistance, discharge planning and institutional placement. Social workers are assigned to each hospital unit.


Speech Language Pathologists

Speech language pathologists will evaluate and diagnose speech, language and swallowing disorders and help you develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills.


Volunteers

Dedicated volunteers add to the services provided by hospital employees and your doctors. These men, women and young people provide support throughout the hospital, including delivering mail and flowers.
